Gentlemen, let's all agree to not fear Pantone's 2015 Colour of the Year: Marsala! A rich burgundy can accommodate perhaps a romantic atmosphere; therefore adding a splash of Marsala to a masculine design may seem daunting but if you follow a few simple guidelines you may create a bold yet refined place you call home.
1. Leather, Leather, Leather: The simplest way to incorporate a hint of Marsala to a masculine design is with leather furniture. Whether it be a small addition like an armchair or a stronger approach with a large couch, we want to avoid the use of pattern and remain with a solid burgundy foundation that will be a focal point in the room...and what better fabric to use than leather?
2. Just Accessorize: If you're not ready to commit to burgundy furniture for the next decade you can surely update and/or add to the bold look of your bachelor pad with some tasteful accessories that will be sure to impress any visitors. Think about switching out an old table lamo for a statement in burgundy, in addition to some antiqued books and a block pattern pillow.
3. Remember the B: A great split-complimentary colour scheme to follow when thinking about adding burgundy to your interior involves nothing but B: Beige, Blue and of course Burgundy, and of which can be used as the focal colour to be incorporated in the decor of your space!
