Spring Starts Inside The Home!!

It's that time of year again where the snow starts to melt and we all get super excited to throw on some shorts and turn everything GREEN...even though the weather is not quite there yet! So here's to starting spring from the inside out! Let's reverse the roles and let mother nature feel inspired by the earthy green tones we add to our living spaces!

For today's blog I wanted to highlight some easy to maintain plants for inside your home that can either improve the air quality or even improve your sleeping habits!!

4 Plants that Improve Air Quality:

English Ivy - This plant is easy to grow and is a common household find! It has the ability to absorb toxins in the air and even reduces airborne mold by 94%!!

Garden Mum - NASA did some research on these guys and found that they are air purifying champions!! They have the ability to remove ammonia, benzene, formaldehyde and xylene from indoor air!

Peace Lily - Added to this list because although it is small it does still pack quite the punch...and is more of a floral than some greenery. Not to mention they are also easy to grow! Just remember that it does produce pollen and you won't need to many!

Bamboo Palm - The tallest on our list and maybe one of the most effective due to its overall height! The Bamboo can grow up to 12' indoors and with all the extra height it's able to filter even more toxins! They thrive in the sun and bright light and the best part...pet friendly!

4 Plants that Help You Sleep:

Snake Plant - This plant will naturally release more oxygen at night which can help to improve the quality of the air in your bedroom which will efficiently improve the air quality and help breathing.

Lavender - This plant has been used for centuries in order to relieve anxiety and stress. It has the ability to reduce your heart rate and provide a calm atmosphere which in turn helps relax your body and provide a better sleep!

English Ivy - On the list again! Due to its air purifying abilities this plant is good for the bedroom as it is easy to grow, absorbs toxins and releases oxygen which makes it easier to breathe...in turn making it easier to fall asleep at night.

Aloe Vera - This plant is multipurpose and not only can be broken open to use on a pretty bad sunburn(story of my life) BUT it also releases a ton of oxygen at night to help you breathe. No to mention it looks really cool as part of the decor!
